Who runs the site

Glyph Atlas is run by its maintainer, mkpoli. Questions about your data, and requests to see or delete it, go to contact@glyphatlas.org.

Browsing

Reading the site needs no account. Your language and colour scheme are kept in two cookies, and view settings such as the image style in your browser's storage; they stay on your device.

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, measures how fast pages load with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and builds no profile of you. Cloudflare also keeps a sample of request records for a short time to find faults.

Saving reviews

The first time you save a review, the site starts an anonymous account for your browser, named like anon-1a2b3c, and keeps it signed in with a cookie. Each decision you save is recorded with that account, the crop and the time.

Signing in

An account holds your email address, your display name and, if you choose one, a picture. Signing in with GitHub, Google, Discord, LINE or Kakao gives the site your name, email address, picture and your account number there; nothing else is asked for.

A sign-in code is sent by Cloudflare Email Service and kept, hashed, for ten minutes. A passkey leaves only its public key here. Each signed-in device keeps a session with its IP address and browser name, which your account page lists; a session ends when you sign out or after 90 days.

What others see

The decisions you save, with their time, appear in the history and the ranking under your display name and picture, and are released with the collection under CC BY-SA 4.0, credited to that name. Your email address is never shown.

A Gravatar picture is fetched from Gravatar by each reader's browser, and its address contains a hash of your email address. A GitHub picture is fetched from GitHub in the same way.

Other services

Cloudflare hosts the site, its database, uploaded pictures and the sign-in mail. The provider you sign in with sees that you signed in here. The site shows no advertising, sells no data and does not track you on other sites.

Your choices

On your account page you can change your name and picture, remove ways to sign in, and sign out other devices. To delete your account, write to contact@glyphatlas.org: your email address, picture, sign-in methods and sessions are deleted, and your decisions remain in the collection's record as Anonymous.
